Growing In Faith Through Service

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

Serving others is something we do and a vital part of who we are. We are the Church – those God has chosen to carry out His Work. Whenever and wherever you serve, you are actively and tangibly demonstrating God’s love and compassion to others.  That’s what it means to Be the Church.
Whether you choose to serve weekly or monthly, there are opportunities to use the time, talents and gifts God has uniquely gifted to you.

Word on the Streets Ministry

Word on the Streets Ministry provides food for the body and soul to homeless individuals and families in East Orlando. St. Luke’s assists with this ministry by providing food and volunteers on the 5th Sundays.  Cooks are needed to prepare food and deliver it to St. Luke’s or bring it to the event.  Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve and clean up the meal at the event site. We have four Sundays scheduled for 2015 – March 30th, May 31st, August 30th and November 29th. The event takes place at 14200 E. Colonial Dr, Orlando 32826 from 3:30pm – 6pm. All ages are welcome. To sign up to provide food, volunteer or both, contact

St. Luke’s has “adopted” Chapman Rd this year. Once a quarter, a team of volunteers cleans up Chapman Road.  Quarterly a team of volunteers cleans up Chapman road.  Volunteers meet at the Lutheran Hven Entrance on the corner of Chapman and Woodpecker at 9:00 a.m. (Note the change in time! Not 8 a.m. but 9 a.m.)  Each volunteers gets an orange vest and all the supplies need to pick up trash.  Since no special skill is required, this is a great activity for the entire family.  Our clean up days for 2015 are January 31st, March 28th, July 18th, and October 24th.  For more information or to sign up to help, contact

Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries, Sanford

Redeeming Life Maternity Home is a safe haven for pregnant women who find themselves without a place to stay. Women receive shelter, food, emotional and spiritual support as well as classes in life skills and parenting. There is a Residential Director who lives at the house, but on her days off there is a need for volunteers to stay with the women. For more information or to volunteer, go to
